Hollytex
Hollytex fabric is made from fine, non-woven fibers of pure polyester. This smooth material has a very small number of free fibers on the surface and is very resistant to stretching, which is why it is widely used in various conservation procedures. It is resistant to temperatures up to 175 ºC.
Hollytex has a smoother surface than Reemay fabric.
Hollytex can be used during the following conservation and restoration procedures:
- duplicating and reinforcing (eng. lining)
- installation of the substrate
- separation
- repairs on paper using the “leaf casting” technique
