Paraloid B 72

Acrylic resin under this name is is a copolymer of ethyl methacrylate and methyl acrylate. Transparent granules are soluble in acetone, xylene and toluene. The product can be applied using different techniques and dries well in the air or in the oven. It does not yellow and has low reactivity in contact with sensitive pigments.

In diluted concentrations (5%) it is used to strengthen flaking glazes, and in higher concentrations (20%) to make adhesive. It is reversible in contact with solvents.

Its purpose is very broad:

• varnishing of marks
• sealing cracks in glass and ceramics
• filling voids in bone
