Tyvek fabric is made of pure polyethylene, which combines the best properties of paper, foil and fabric. Thanks to its physical properties, Tyvek is the ideal material for protecting valuable works of art and other cultural assets in museums and archives. It can be used to protect valuable objects during storage in depots, but it is particularly suitable for protecting paintings and sculptures during their transport. Tyvek can be bonded using dextrin and casein adhesives, felts and heat activated adhesives. Tyvek fabric is pH neutral, does not release fibers, allows moisture to escape and protects the artwork from external damage.
